What is Cupping?
Cupping is a therapy that uses cups on the skin to create suction. This suction will decompress the muscle and increase blood flow, which can promote healing and reduce pain. The purpose of cupping is to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being.
What do the cupping colors mean?
By looking at the colours, acupuncturists can tell the condition of your body and
come up with treatment plans to restore balance in your body.
What is Gua-sha?
Gua-sha is a therapy that uses a scraping tool to apply pressure and scrape the skin
to relieve pain and tension as a way to improve circulation. Using this method, it can
untangle knotted areas and release built-up muscular tension. Other benefits include
improving fine lines and wrinkles and promoting lymphatic drainage. For those who
have trouble sleeping, gua-sha is also an effective way to help with it.
After gua-sha, you may experience some bruising, that can be sore and tender but only
for a short period of time. Gua-sha is typically considered very safe.
What is Tui-na massage?
Tui-na (pronounced Twee-na) is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese
Medicine (TCM). The practitioner works along meridians (energy channels) and uses
stretches, pressure points, and joint rotations to balance the body’s vital energy (Qi)
and remove blockages. The main benefit of tui-na massage is that it focuses on the
specific problem, whether it is an acute or a chronic pain associated with the joints,
muscles, or a skeletal system. It is very beneficial in reducing the pain of neck,
shoulders, hip, back, arms, and legs.
