Katy van’tSchip

Position: Physiotherapist

BSc Psych – Bachelor of Science in Psychology, MPT – Master of Physical Therapy

Katy graduated with a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia after completing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She developed a passion for both musculoskeletal and pelvic health physiotherapy early on in her career, and underwent further course work to specialize as a pelvic health physiotherapist to integrate her interests into practice. Katy employs a holistic approach to assessment, tying in her knowledge of the pelvic floor to form a uniquely comprehensive treatment style for her patients.

Katy spent the last two and a half years abroad in London where she had the opportunity to progress her skills and clinical experience among a diversified population in a busy musculoskeletal and pelvic health clinic. Her areas of interest include pregnancy and postpartum care, pelvic pain, bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti rehab and cancer rehab. Katy also enjoys helping those with sport and overuse injuries, postural pain and post-operative rehabilitation, with a particular interest in running injuries. She strives to make her sessions goal-oriented and individualized, and to understand everyone’s “why” behind their recovery journey.

When not in the clinic, Katy enjoys traveling, hiking, strength training, and spending time with friends and family.
